Jena Tyler LRAD AISTD
I started dancing at the age of 3 as I was ‘clumsy’ and quickly decided that dance was my favourite pastime. I attended Thornden School and Barton Peveril College whilst training at a local dance school where I loved performing in dance festivals and school shows. I then spent three years studying at the Royal Academy of Dance in London gaining a First Class honours degree in the Art and Teaching of Ballet and my teaching qualifications from the RAD and ISTD.
I have now been teaching for over 15 years and take great pride in providing quality dance education to the young people in my care.
I started dancing at the age of 3 at my local dancing school and very quickly realised I had a passion for dancing. At 16 I furthered my dance training at English National Ballet School and Central School of Ballet in London.
After graduating I spent many years touring Europe in several shows including ‘Elvis the Musical’ and ‘Fame’. Eventually I decided I wanted a more settled lifestyle and began teaching at several different dance schools in the area. I love teaching and passing on my passion for ballet to the next generation.
I began dancing at a young age at my mother’s dance school and enjoyed all aspects of dance but my passion has always been tap. I have now been teaching for 18 years at a number of local dance schools and Southampton University. My teaching has also enabled me to pursue my love of choreography. I have had the privilege of choreographing several award-winning numbers as well as school shows and university events.
